Undoubtedly one of the major attractions of Groby is the excellent range of schools for all ages from four to 18 in the form of Martinshaw Primary, Lady Jane Grey Primary, Elizabeth Woodville Primary, Brookvale High School and Groby Community College.
The population of Groby is around 8,000 and is extremely well served by a regular bus service, a diverse range of local shops including two supermarkets (Co-Op and Budgens), a traditional family butcher (Chaplins) and a delightful boutique selling gifts, fashion jewellery and interiors (Flint).
Nearby open countryside and beauty spots are Groby Pool, Martinshaw Woods and the fields towards Anstey and Newtown Linford. Major road links make Groby extremely accessible to and from all directions via the A46, A50 and the M1. Leicester City centre is exactly six miles away. Groby has its own post office, a well used village hall and its newspaper – The Spotlight – features items about Groby and the immediate area.
